Gearing
up for digital delivery
Just back from ASTD -
held in Atlanta this year. Took part in meeting with producers and
distributors to discuss how best to use digital formats to support
both group training and learning at the desktop.
Supernova can already provide licenses for the use of its titles
on intranets. Our programmes are also being used in a number of
trials::
* a closed ‘streamed’ video service for further and
higher education
* experimental ipod downloads of management development materials
by a training consultancy
* video extracts downloaded to PDAs as part of an integrated learning
trial by a government department.
Let us know your
views on what we ought to be doing as a producer and distributor
to help you make good use of digital platforms.
ASTD was also good for making new contacts. Watch this space for
list of new international distributors.

Star Review for Giving Feedback
Training
& Coaching Today’s review of our title on feedback
skills gave it a five star rating for Value
for Money.
...it's
a measured product that illustrates the framework of emotional intelligence
competencies with great clarity. Even the most high-handed manager
would have a clear idea of what constitutes emotionally competent
feedback by the end of a session.’
The review also commented positively on the dramatised examples
of good and bad practice and on the supporting materials. The programme
was produced in collaboration with the Hay
Group.

Supernova
and Hay launch feedback video
HayGroup hosted a couple
of seminars last month to introduce Giving Feedback - emotional
intelligence in action. Here are some of the of the comments
made by trainers:
"t deals with tricky issues like what if the other person
we're giving feedback to isn't so self-aware"
“I found myself thinking of all the people I know who do that”
“High performers often have a blind spot around giving feedback.
The video can really
help with this”
"its good that Tariq wasn't a cuddly figure - you can have
EI without being cosy"
"you can use the video in different ways - as part of an EI
programme - in a session specifically about feedback - for follow-on
work into applications of EI
“the bits where we laugh ring true - we see it happen all
the time”
“it was all there; coaching, counselling, feedback, passing
the time of day”
“the introduction to EI is very good, very useful”
